ROOTED

What we do to our ʻāina, we do to ourselves. As a community we are connected through one heartbeat, one mind, one earth, and we thrive to remain ROOTED in our ʻāina.  As kamaʻāina (children of the land) we have a kuleana (responsibility) to perpetuate our relationship with the land as we grow and prosper together as one.

The mission of ROOTED is to grow family and food together. To use place based education to lift our community through agricultural and ʻohana building practices.  This concept will allow our community members to develop a sense of belonging, a sense of place, sustainable lifestyle, and to foster an overall greater sense of well-being.

Our goal is to combat social issues in our community by uniting as mole o ka ʻāina, roots of the land.

We believe that if we remain ROOTED to the ʻāina, we can improve the mental and physical health of our community by working and building up each other as `ohana, while learning and applying traditional farming practices. By doing so, we will create and sustain healthy lives for our communities with the following opportunities;

• Outreach for Keiki and Kūpuna
• Sustainable lifestyle practices
• Sustainable cultural education
