As a grassroots, community non-profit, we have taken on a huge responsibility within our mission and goals. In order to hold ourselves accountable, we have broken down our programs into the categories below to make sure our `āina and ohana remain priorities.
`Ohana means family. In Hawai`i we are raised to understand the importance of family. Therefore, we take pride in part of our mission to build a sense of `ohana in our communities. We believe that by using `ohana building practices, we will strengthen our communities in many different ways from mental health to social improvements and overall well-being.
`Āina (land) based program that provides opportunities of cultural based learning, place based education, and traditional farming practices for our future generations. Our keiki programs also provides an outlet for keiki to develop a sense of place and connection to our land through cultural practices and sustainable farming.
As a community based non-profit, our plan to strengthen our community comes in various types of community service. All our participating communities may differ, but our mindset of community = `ohana remains the same.
